My new favorite pic!
Ok the santa pic might always be my favorite but this comes in second. I am trying to teach Ella how to sit and we had to practice for the camera but I think she is getting close!

5 weeks old!
Ella is now 5 weeks old and last week had her 1 month check up. She weighs 9.5 pounds and is in the 70th percentile for her weight. She is perfectly healthy and doing great! I do have to say that every time I take her to her doctors apts they make you take off her diaper to weigh her and I get anxiety every time because she seems to go to the bathroom just as I put her on the scale and I get so embarrassed. It's almost like she knows that this would be the worst time to go to the bathroom and she does it anyway just for mommy! lol
Grandma & Grandpa Petrovic
Grandma and Grandpa Petrovic have arrived from Bosnia!! They traveled a very long way to meet Ella!! They got here Thursday evening and have been a huge help since arriving. They are in love with her (as everyone is because she is so freaking cute) and have been taking very good care of her. They have already learned how to feed and change her. Grandpa will just hold her for hours and hours! They babysat for the first time last night so Bane and I could have a night out with friends and that was so nice! They are naturals!!

POOP!!
So it's late and Ella and I are laying in bed giving Bane a deserved nap. We are leaving for home in the morning and although all the doctors and nurses have been absolutely amazing I am ready to get home. Today's big event has been all about poop!!! I just learned all this which I am sure all of you mothers out there might already know this but newborns are supposed to have their very first poop within 48 hours of birth, well needless to say Ella was nearing that deadline and nothing. Nurses were coming in every hour or so to check her and they all kept looking at their watch and they would all have the same look on their faces, like a hurry up little girl were waiting. Well now Bane and I are constantly rubbing her belly and trying to reason with her (I know she can't understand but it made us feel better anyway lol)... still nothing, no poop. Finally at the last minute there it was and somehow we are all laughing and so excited about this huge event for the day! I never thought anything to do with poop would make us so happy or proud... welcome to parenthood!!
I also wanted to thank all of you for your being there for us! All of the phone calls, emails, texts from all of you have been so thoughtful and makes me cry multiple times a day for the love and support. I know that we are in CO but I really feel that you all were here with us and I love you all.
Proud Daddy!
Ella's arrival
So Ella has arrived! We are still in the hospital and all doing fine and Ella is more precious everyday. It all started Thursday afternoon around 1pm when the contractions started and slowly became stronger and closer together. After many hours of me crying in pain and bane getting really nervous we headed to the hospital at 11pm at night. I held off until they were 3 mins apart because I was afraid of being that pregnant girl who went to the hospital way to early only to be sent home and told to come back later, I was determined that when I did get there it would be to have a baby not a practice run lol!! Anyway I was 5 cemeters when I got there and after an epidural and 8 more hours then she finally came. As my sister has said there was pain and words and phone calls but I will spare the details for you all. Here are some pics and of coarse I feel she is the most gorgeous baby girl ever... Born 9/17/09 at 7:02 am. 6 lbs 13 ounces, 19 inches long!!
